Ubuntu Pro is Canonical’s service package for Ubuntu. It offers tiered levels of support for desktop, server and cloud deployments. Ubuntu Pro covers all aspects of open source infrastructure and applications, providing streamlined security, compliance, hardening, automation, and support for your full stack.
With Ubuntu Pro, you get access to:
- A trusted open source repository you can build on.
- Fast remediation with tested vulnerability fixes.
- Auditing, patching automation and management tools to ensure visibility and uptime.
- Compliance profiles for the most popular security standards.
- Coverage for your OS, infrastructure and application stack, including GCC, PostgreSQL, OpenSSL, Nagios, Rust, PHP, Redis, ….
Ubuntu Pro extends the life of every Ubuntu LTS from 5 years of standard security maintenance for Main repository to 10 years for the entire Ubuntu Archive (Main and Universe repositories).
With the Legacy add-on, this is extended an additional 5 years, giving you a 15 year security maintenance and support commitment.
Existing Ubuntu LTS systems can be upgraded in-place to Ubuntu Pro without redeployment, streamlining the process across large Ubuntu estates with a single command.
Expanded Security Maintenance (ESM) provides 10 years of vulnerability fixes for critical, high and selected medium vulnerabilities across the whole Ubuntu archive, as defined by Ubuntu Priority. Expand this to 15 years with the Legacy add-on.
